The Pisko Safeguard guardrail system provides permanent, passive fall protection that increases safety without requiring any active measures on the part of the user. Once installed, the railing protects everyone on the roof – even occasional visitors who have not received fall protection training. This ensures that the building is always safe for all users.

Pisko Safeguard is modular and easy to implement in various sites
The Pisko Safeguard guardrail system is modular and consists of a few main components. It can be installed on flat roofs directly onto the roof surface with Pisko mounting plate for waterproofing membrane roof, in which case the system functions as a stand-alone safety railing. However, on steeper and more demanding roofs (such as those of city apartment buildings), it is recommended that the railing system always be installed as a part of the Pisko access ways to ensure that movement and maintenance work on the roof are as safe and clear as possible.
Revolutionary installer-friendliness
The system is designed to be installer-friendly. In addition to its modular structure, type-tested fastening methods and innovative handrail fasteners make installation quick and easy. A patent has been applied for the solution.
Designers can easily add the guardrail solution to their drawings from the ProdLib product library, either attached directly to the roof walkway and roof ladders or as a separate stand-alone system on a flat roof.
Guardrail system and safety rope attachment points
The Pisko Safeguard guardrail system can be used as a safety rope attachment point when, for example, maintenance work needs to be carried out outside the railing line. When planning and installing the system, it is important to take into account the space required by roof workers outside the railing line, for example for maintenance work. The recommended installation line is at least one meter from the edge of a low-pitched roof, leaving enough space for maintenance work.
If Safeguard is installed on roof access ways, there are often more appropriate solutions for attaching safety ropes to complement the system. In this case, safety and usability can be improved with, for example, the Pisko SafeLine wire system, which ensures fall protection when moving along the roof walkway and roof ladder, and the Pisko rope attachment, which can be used to equip the roof walkway with a safety rope attachment point for work purposes. These complementary solutions increase safety and well-being at work, especially on steep roofs.
Tested and certified reliability
Pisko Safeguard has been tested and dimensioned in accordance with standard SS 831333:2021 and certified with the P-mark. The system withstands demanding load and drop tests. The P-mark is a certificate in accordance with Swedish national requirements and standards for guardrail systems used as construction products. The technical assessment required in the P-mark certification process is equivalent to the third-party assessment level of the CE marking, i.e., the assessment of compliance with the requirements is carried out by a third, accredited body.
Sustainable and environmentally responsible
The guardrail system is made of hot-dip galvanized and powder-coated steel, which guarantees excellent corrosion resistance and a long service life. Piristeel’s roof safety products EPD covers Pisko Safeguard, so the environmental impact is transparently documented. The railing system comes with a 50-year technical warranty.
The system is available to order in all standard colors, making it easy to match the appearance to the building.
