Safety equipment for ladders
A building with a height of more than 9 meters must feature fastening structures for lifelines (Decree of the Ministry of the Environment on Safety of use of building, 1007/2017). In Pisko wall ladders, fall protection can be implemented with the Pisko SafeLine wire system or Pisko vertical rail. Pisko ladders can also be equipped with a Pisko back guard. A safety railing is recommended for use with Pisko roof ladders.

PISKO VERTICAL SAFETY RAIL SYSTEM
The Pisko vertical safety rail is the lightest steel vertical safety rail on the market, and it meets the requirements of the newest standard EN 353–1:2014.
BENEFITS OF THE PISKO VERTICAL SAFETY RAIL
The light weight of the rail makes installing considerably easier and faster. The simple product assembly makes the work of fitters easier. Once the Pisko vertical safety rail system has been installed, using personal fall protection equipment is very easy. The Pisko vertical safety rail system is installed on Pisko ladders with a rung thickness of 25 mm. The product can also be used with other manufacturers’ ladders and even for rungs with smaller diameters, but in this case it is necessary to ensure the overall durability of the ladder system and appropriate authorizations of the other products. The most certain and recommended option is therefore to use an all-Pisko ladder and vertical safety rail system.

PISKO BACK GUARD
The back guard and vertical safety rail are a good combination in windy locations, for example. The back guard provides a sense of safety while the vertical safety rail protects against falling, but the back guard cannot be used as the required lifeline anchoring point.
If the total height of a ladder equipped with a back guard is more than 10 m, it must also be fitted with an intermediate landing. The climbing distance between landings must not exceed 6 m. For example, an 18-m-high ladder equipped with a back guard must have landings at the heights of 6 m and 12 m (RT 85-11132).
PISKO SAFETY RAILING FOR ROOF LADDER
The Pisko safety railing is used for providing a safe maintenance route together with a roof ladder. The Pisko safety railing must not be used as an anchoring point for a lifeline.
The total height of the railing must be one meter if the falling height is no more than six meters. Higher than this, the total height of the railing must be 1.2 meters.
